A heedless bat that flutter'd round about,
Mistook his way into a weasel's house;
Bless me! what's this? by Heaven's a mouse!
Exclaim'd the dame with picqued snout.
How durst you come within my door?
I hate a mouse, your death is sure.

There's many a one change their note,
Just like this bat that's in our story,
Who as time, go still turn their coat,
One day a Whig, the next a Tory.
